Newbie eBay seller listed a fake item for sale, http://www.ebay.com/itm/112506499920?ul_noapp=true

I let seller know it is not genuine, and back came the following reply, "This is a real dime...thanks @ God Bless!"

So I reported to eBay as follows, "Seller refuses to acknowledge dime as a fake. Insists it's real, and plans to victimize a buyer."

Wouldn't you think a new eBay seller with ZERO feedback would at least second-guess one's self before sending a reply like that?

It's amazing to me that a seller so obviously did not even go back and compare his / her coin to images of an authenticated coin he or she could easily find on eBay.

Or he knows it's a fake in the first place and just wanted you to get lost.

What an awful header on the listing and only $15.00 economy shipping? Yikes! Reported also.

In one line the coin is described as Very Good, in the next line as Good. The seller does not even know the correct terminology for grade.

BTW, I am not a collector of US coins so I really have no idea what a real one looks like. Is it the fact that both observe and reverse have 90 degree die rotations which make you suspicious? :D

I reported it. Pretty sure this is the 1st item I've ever reported on ebay. Not sure why I felt the need to do it this time. @ God Bless

Probably not a teenager as he said "God Bless You" however I always find it funny when a scam artists uses terms as such to try and convince you that "hey I'm a good guy"!

This is when I like to see the lighting bolt strike them right where the Lord split them!

Now that you are no longer a teenager, you have probably forgotten more than you ever knew . . . sounds both familiar and dangerous, don't it?

Oh, and for those of you just dying to buy one of those extremely rare 1982 Lincoln cents with no mintmark (seems there's more than one available to each living homo sapiens), the same seller is offering one of those as well . . . that's in auction format, so you might get your bid in now before it goes for moon money.

Unfortunately, that coin is only available for local pickup in Bakersfield CA which is a long drive for me so I think I'll live with the disappointment and wait until one shows up in a Stack's or Goldberg auction (yeah . . . that'll be the day).

My wife and I stopped in Bakersfield on the way to Vegas when we lived in CA. Since that time we have decided that there is nothing good in Bakersfield. Sorry, if anyone reading this is from Bakersfield...but I'm sure you understand... ;)
