    One stupid question.
There are examples with LEG IV and LEG IIII which is both 4?
There seem to be much more with IV than with IIII.
I thought that Romans used IIII as 4 and the IV was much later used.
The IV is the start of IVPPITER and was so used as abbreviation for Jupiter.

I know many Roman coins with IIII (COS IIII etc.) and with VIIII or XIIII but not with IV,IX and XIV.

So is the use of IV and IIII normal for the time of Marc Antony and before and they changed later to use of IIII only? OR is the use of IV someting specific for this issue/emission and had a certain reason?

Inscriptions dating from the Roman period sometimes use "additive" forms such as IIII and VIIII for "4" and "9" instead of IV and IX. There are even instances of both forms appearing within the same document.

Sorry @Bing the lettering looks really off to me, so I have to agree with the others. I hope you find another soon. These legion IIII coins are quite elusive.

Did you hand-engrave "copy" on it before returning it? :D

Bing didn't own the coin. Unfortunately, the seller would've been within his rights to refuse to accept it back if Bing had done as you suggest.

I was only kidding with my comment, which was why I included the grin......

I would have liked to , but, like @Volodya said, it's not my coin. It's too bad it was fake, but I kinda knew it before I bought it. I even made the deal beforehand with the seller that I could return it for the full refund to include the shipping in both directions. I'm not out any money, but I'm back in the hunt for a real one this time.
