As stated before I am not a Lincoln collector or have a lot of experience with cents. There for I ask the penny guys here for a little assistance. Can someone please give me some data on this 60 D SD Lincoln . Is the die break on the left rev. a PUP for the DDO-003?
Just curious is this a unplated cent error also? Looks silver-like in color from what I can see. I think I may have one like this.
Can't be... a 1960 Cent is copper, not plated at all Mid 1982 is when the US Mint started to strike Copper plated Zinc planchets
Gotcha. Thanks guys. Knew about the composition changeover then, just the color had me wondering what was going on.
Lou I used a dino scope it sometimes makes copper look silver or not a natural copper color. This is a copper not coated cent.
@Tyler Graton one of the easiest ways to eliminate varietys as a whole is MM placement. @Paddy54 I am wondering if this coin has a die break, like the 003. Your coin doesn't seem to match the markers given on Variety Vista, it is missing the die depression upper right eve, and the date and MM doesn't match. http://varietyvista.com/01b LC Doubled Dies Vol 2/1960DDDO003.htm

Mine doesn't have any of those die markers but looks like it more than anything else. Maybe different die state?
