First Strike label value.... My take on the First Strike (or Early Release) label is I know the coin made the grade on the first submission....No chance of getting a "borderline" coin that it took 3 or 4 submissions to finally make the grade.... FloridaBill
Weird thing, I ordered my coins at 12:43, my dad ordered his at 13:42, and he got his today and mine say "in stock and reserved". Thought it was first come first served?
excellent point!! I NEVER thought of it that way! yeah... the boxes for most of the mint's .9999 gold stuff have been pretty impressive, but this one is OMG!! What appears to me to be a beautiful burled walnut or something like that.
I got mine too yesterday but the mint must have too many irons in the fire. I say this because I ordered the silver proof set at about the same time and they say they shipped my silver proof set and my Jefferson first spouse is still waiting to be sent. I checked my credit card account and they charged me for the silver proof (not received) but sent the first spouse (have not been charged for it yet). I am sure it is only a bookeeping mistake and things will be straightened out later. The proof Jefferson first spouse is a beaut and will probably be the only one I will buy. Not because I don't like the others but I have to budget my coin spending. Besides that I am saving up a war chest for the proof reverse platoinum. Hoo Ha!
I'd say not even then, because of constant die rotation, but maybe that's just me. Actually I know quite a few people that don't take the "first strike" designation seriously.
My two coins were shipped yesterday via fed ex I do not think fed ex delivers on saturday. Guess I will have them Monday
Somewhat off topic, but I received my Jefferson first spouse bronze coin today. It's nice! I ordered all three spouses at the same time, and the person on the phone told me they were all in stock and would ship at the same time, but I only got the Jefferson coin today... I did notice that this "coin" has medalic orientation, not coin orientation. Is this because it is considered a medal or did they do the gold coins like this as well. Thanks, David
FEDX left a notice on my door that they tried to deliver but signature needed. I was traveling and got home too late to go Friday night so I will be patient and wait for redelivery on Monday. I ordered the proof and hope that it is as nice as the picture I saw on the forum.
wow ..these coins are sooo tiny. Nice ..but tiny....lol Fed ex left a hang tag on the door ..picked them up from the warehouse this morning ...yummy!
I got one of my uncirculated FS coins yesterday....My proof hasn't been shipped yet. I have another order being shipped to my Grandmother's house, and that's going to be shipped on Monday by 10:30 =)
Of course you open and peek! When I pick mine up at FedEx tonight (since I'm at work right now...), I'm opening and peeking in the parking lot!
Mine arrived today as well, as far as opening them, my wife took care of that decision for me - - not that I wouldn't have the second I got home... Now I have to wait for this work day to end so that I can go home and enjoy them!
