    Opinions?
Paid $68 shipping and insurance included. I'm no Indian Cent expert, but this semi key came along and I had the $$$ so well, you know the story.

    Thanks folks

Nice coin. Nice price. Beautiful surfaces and great eye appeal. Did you score it on Ebay?

I agree that is a VF-25 and a nice Red/Brown at that! You did very well as the coin should have a value between $100 and $125.

I think VF30 and yes that is a good deal.

VF20 details, damage on the nose, cleaned.

There is a small gash on the nose that I didn't notice the first time. What is it about the surface of that coin that makes it look cleaned to you? Is it just the dirt and grime trapped against the raised edges of the design and legends?

When there is that much dirt and grime in the recesses and the rest of the coin has none - it has definitely been cleaned. Also the orangish color is a dead give-away - it is not natural at all.

The color is not orange at all, just the pic. I am having that trouble with all my cents I photograph. Nose? yep, a gash, ouch. I bid and paid VF $$$ for it, so Im happy.

I agree with GDJMSP that the coin once had some debris on it , the coin does look orange like it was dipped in hot sauce. But like you said it could be just the photo . overall a nice coin VF-25

It is a nice brown in hand. I need to get better lights I guess, it happens to all my coin pics. I am using just a desk lamp for now.

Example, the background is actually a dead-flat black construction paper, it does not look black at all.

Have you tried using a milk Jug to help difusse the light

I have been burned by "light cleaning" from decades ago thing also. It is a bit tricky, but I spotted it on this coin, and when I read Doug say it, it made it a certainty (that dude does know).

If that paper is supposed to be black, try adjusting your white balance.

Forgot my camera at work, but I adjusted the white balance, and WOW !! What a difference. It seems the auto mode is no good, the manual mode with " sunshine " gives me a nice black paper and a brown coin. I'll bring it home and post pics tommorow.

Scout Jim, I have tried that to no avail, but not with the new settings, will try that also.

    THANK YOU
