I bought this coin in May (orange patina is fake... guess who?) and it was labeled as a Ptolemy III coin, but I'm having a darn hard time finding aligning info for this coin. Here's what I know:

    eKC42zNcaBn5Xp8r6FkJx7zW3aEbGM.jpg
Obverse: Diademed head of Zeus-Ammon right.
Reverse: ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΠΤΟΛΕΜΑΙΟΥ, eagle standing left on winged thunderbolt; cornucopia to left (does it? are those markings leftovers of what it was?).
    Size: 14mm, 2.84g

I find one that looks like it, but was 36mm (#88 http://www.akropoliscoins.com/Page2a.html). But that one was a Ptolemy II coin.

Other places I've found similar info:

How can I find out which Ptolemy this coin is for? What is it's actual reference?

    Thanks, SA!

In looking at the page, I'm thinking it's in this set:
    Ptolemy III
Alexandria Cornucopia with CHI/RHO and PLAIN (No Control) Series 5

    15mm - 2.9gm
    Dichalkon
    Sv970 - XP
    CHI/RHO monogram

In some of the Ptolemy cornucopia images I've seen, they have a leather strap around it with 2 ends falling on the right. I think I see the reminents of that on my coin, versus a club or trident. And I can't make out the worn leg monogram.

    chrsmat71 I LIKE TURTLES!

    I really need a mini-Ptolemy AE!

Here's one that isn't you usual BIG CHUNKY Ptolemy AE that I never did exactly figure out. Maybe Ptolemy X? Toward the end of the line the coins started to get pretty thin and ....well....crappy.

Isn't the chi/rho monogram between the legs of the eagle? There's no way to make out anything between those legs in this picture.
