Where to Get a Decently Priced 1 Crown Coin?

It seems like most of the UK 1 crown coins were either minted in small numbers, or just not listed on Ebay and the like (at least for reasonable prices). Victoria seemed to have minted over a million of these, which I would think would decrease the cost/rarity, but I seem to be having trouble finding them. This 1 crown coin on Ebay is older and of a smaller mintage quantity than the aforementioned coin, but it looks like the only decently priced coin I found for sale (I would rather have a lower quality coin for cheaper because I'm on a tight budget). Any thoughts?

Patience. I've bought two Crown coins off of ebay and got them for less than silver melt (i'm talking like less than $10 each). It's about being patient and also just luck. One of them I happened to see in the Canadian coin section of ebay, because it was mislisted I got it for cheap. If you're patient, you'll get one for a fair price. Don't just buy the first one you see.

Also are you wanting it because it's a big silver coin or for the design? If you just want it for the design I would take a look at the 1951 Crown. It isn't silver but it's a much cheaper way to get one.

The 1951 is an interesting piece in its own right. It was minted to celebrate the beginning of getting London "back to normal" after WW2. They can be found in original boxes - some maroon, some green.

But don't you think the coin is too crowded?

Both, really. All the Uk coins I'm collecting right now are sterling or .5 Ag. I'm just trying to complete a rough set of UK coinage during the reign of Victoria and George V (it's rather recent so not very expensive plus it's before cupro-nickel replaced .5 silver).

The Ike looks pretty good imo.

Are you looking for any particular reign or era or just any crown? You can find more recent crowns for much less than the ones you posted.

Can't say I've ever had the pleasure, in the hand. (Wow, does that read badly, or what?)

I almost went with "That's what SHE said" but I resisted the temptation, ... for 5 minutes.

The Churchill Crown is not ugly, Sir. :) The portrait I find quite attractive, and I also like the idea that apart from the name and the face there is nothing on that side. What I dislike is the "fat" font on the portrait side ...

Absolutely agree. Would have loved to see what font they rejected. The other thing that crown is not is hard to find. You can't swing a dead cat without ...

The United States postage stamp that also commemorated Churchill's passing is, to me, one of the finest portraits I've ever seen reduced to such a small size.
