1989 penny

I was wondering if anybody can tell me if this is considered a die break.

Also if you could recommend any kind of books that might help me in my new Adventure hear.

It's too dark. Need some light. Picture is close enough but too many shadows.

Hmm. I am going to go with a plating issue. It is a zinc penny plated with copper. Zinc has a lot of plating issues. Gas bubbles and whatnot. Sure @paddyman98 will chime in here soon and let ya know.

Of course other than a penny so spend it right.

 

http://doubleddie.com/432422.html Also. You should check your cents for doubled die I use this site very often. Usually what I do, is sort my cents by year, pick a year, study what to look for in that year and specific mint mark, if I find any exact matches- I keep it.

 

Many die cracks like your specimen are very common and not worth much more than face value. Sometimes they grow into major errors, like a cud, but most don't.
