I was wondering if anybody can tell me if this is considered a die break.

Also if you could recommend any kind of books that might help me in my new Adventure hear.

    Google fine but it's also a pain. 20170715_083742.jpg 20170715_083826.jpg 20170715_084336.jpg

This is called a cud, caused by a die break on the edge. This is my coin. Thanks paddyman :)

This is what a die break looks like. Forms the cud.

So I guess with everything that's been posted die cracks aren't worth anything.

Of course other than a penny so spend it right.

http://doubleddie.com/432422.html Also. You should check your cents for doubled die I use this site very often. Usually what I do, is sort my cents by year, pick a year, study what to look for in that year and specific mint mark, if I find any exact matches- I keep it.

Many die cracks like your specimen are very common and not worth much more than face value. Sometimes they grow into major errors, like a cud, but most don't.
