I feel more lighting variations and less fingers would improve these videos. Unfortunately I don't have a lighting set up. Here is a quick attempt: SELEUKID EMPIRE. Seleukos I Nikator. 312-281 BC. AR Tetradrachm (25.5mm, 16.82 g, 6h). In the name of Alexander III of Macedon. Ekbatana mint. Struck circa 311-295/81 BC. Obv: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin Rev: Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; in left field, monogram above anchor; ΣΩ below throne. Seleucid Coinage 202.12; Price 3938 Ex Classical Numismatic Group 61 (25 September 2002), lot 479. Notes: This is the Wildwinds.com example. Houghton and Lorber (Seleucid Coinage, p. 81) suggest this issue is contemporary with those bearing the name of Seleukos. I shot this with a Samsung S7 cell phone set on a table edge. I wiggled the coin on a tray 12" below the phone. I waved my hand in front of the ceiling lamp. I shot it in 4K and used iMovie to crop.
man, cool vids! but what's that beeping noise? you made me go check my smoke alarm! thought the battery was going out! lol!
well, that settles that mystery. It explains why we heard the sound, but could not find the bad detector yesterday afternoon and or last evening (I played the videos a few times over the course of the evening.) I have a battery sitting on the bedstand, because I was expecting it to beep during the night. I don't think I will mention this to my wife.
A few more. I like having still images at the end and having the stills set as the video thumbnail. Still debating the best length, probably 30 seconds or less is best.
Can someone please point me to the tread that describes how to get your movie file posted in a CT thread? Do I need to post the file somewhere else & then link it?
I uploaded mine to YouTube then created a post here. I clicked the icon labeled "media" (it looks like two filmstrip segments) and entered the YouTube URL.
