I'll be the first to admit when it comes to Lincolns they are not my series. however I came across this 1988 P today yes I know it's MAD but was wondering if it's an FS-901 .
    Ok you Lincoln experts lots of images to look at here. @Rick Stachowski 1988 1.jpg 1988 2.jpg 1988 3.jpg 1988 4.jpg

Looks like it is to me. I'll let better experts chime in for their opinion.

there were no "wide AM's" in 1988 and it is not the reverse of 1989....
    1989 looks like this...

I agree completely with Ken except that there are no "wide AMs" in 1988. What he is hinting at is true though. They should not be called "wide AMs" when referring to the 1988 FS-901. They should be called RDV-006, or reverse of 1989. All 1988s are wide AMs (there are no close AMs aka RDV-007 reverse of 1993-2008). The normal reverse for 1988 is RDV-005 and the M is centered between the A & E just like the 006. The PUP is the style of G. Well done Ken & Rick for pointing out the G & posting an image for reference.
