1956 P Wheat "BIE" variety and die chip on "9"

    Thanks for the comments. The bank box this came from had 12 wheat, (2) '25 S, '25 P, '35 P and 36 P, so it has been a good box.
    Side story: I've encouraged my son and daughter in law to check their change; the daughter in law found an 1896 Queen Victoria 3 Pence yesterday.

    Cucds on Coins lists more than just cuds. I posted a link to their 1956 Lincoln cent BIE list.

    Thanks for the link, I will take a closer look at the rest of the coin, I have a '57 D BIE as well and will check it for any extra defect.

    I don't post all of my broken die finds as some are generic, but I looked back through them and found two more examples of the BIE variety; I just recently learned about the BIE variety and did not realize they were anything other than the broken die on the B. I will spread them over time, so as to not dump them all at once.
