1944 Henning Nickel

    I just found this nickel and want your guys opinion. Is it a Henning? I read something about fakes.

    A fake of a fake? Hmm. Sounds fake to me. I think you got the right kind of fake one though. Never heard of the fake of a fake haha. I too want to know the difference if that is the case. It's slightly lighter than a regular nickel I believe. But I feel like that looped R and the missing mint mark above the Monticello is enough to call it a henning nickel. Great find. I too look for that nickel. I know I'll find it in a coin star if anywhere

    Yes, the loop in the leg of the R is a diagnostic. Here's mine.

    Cool find! I was just literally reading about these the other day with the loop in the upright in the R. Quite the coincidence.
