The most worn coin I own. Somehow the pros can tell this is a 1916/17. 1916 Egypt.jpg

Since we're still on 1916, here's one of the love tokens from my past collection, which made it into a "Featured" thread here.

    "Bertha's Boy"

World War I love token on 1916 French franc, from a fallen Canadian soldier to his mother

And, since I don't think I have any 1915 World coins imaged, here's a 1915 USA Barber half to move us on back. We've covered more than a century in the game, now!

This was part of my old VG-F Barber half album.

The Philadelphia coin for that year is a key date in the series (as are the 1913-P and 1914-P). But here are the -D and -S mint pieces for 1915 as well. The 1915-S is certainly the best looking of the trio, especially considering these images are scans and not photos.

Thanks for the link...Learned a lot more about this coin. Can't believe I never looked this one up before. :)

I also really needed a world coin price guide. Didn't have one in my bookmarks yet. Now I do.;)

That's a useful site - NGC uses all the Krause data. However, their interface is somewhat clunky and not terribly user-friendly, so I usually just find the pages within that site via Google-keyword-searching country, date, and denomination.

Try "Egypt 1916 5 milliemes" in a Google search, for example, and presto! There you are. :)

Wow when I use Yahoo and search Numista comes up right away. Tried Google and NGC popped up on top. Have to remember that.

Interesting. I did not know that.

Of course I always use Google for searches. Yahoo? What's that? LOL

Edit to add: sometimes I'll add "... NGC price" to my keyword search, as in, "Egypt 1917 5 milliemes NGC price".
