Very true. And they also typically come dull and drab. That one is booming with luster

From these photos I can't find any reason this is graded only a 63! Where does it fall short?

NGC is always hard on Buffaloes, My opinion they didn't like the deep planchet mark or the die crack from rim to hair and then from nose to rim.
It may be a late die state but that shouldn't hold it back.
By the way A 63 + is a rare grade. Pcgs doesn't hasn't given one yet.
Do I see another CAC submission coming?

    Strike is pretty weak,
but that may be because it's the 2 Feather! Finest known at either service and on the way to NGC for the variety in a week or so.

I Just bought this beauty and a few more out of an estate collection that I appraised. Will be listing with Stacks probably next week. I just got it last week so I haven't had time to take good pics yet

What grade do you consider it?

I grade it a 63 myself so I should get a 64 from NGC or PCGS, my standards are about 1 grade lower than theirs.

Isn't part of the feather still visible? At least it looks like it in your pic and on what NGC has posted as well.

Well, considering that it's already graded MS 64 PL by NGC, I hardly see the need to send it in.
