That was just a troll. That same troll likes to target Stevex6 and I a lot. Don't know why, but especially every time I post my Julius Caesar denarius that troll makes an account and starts to post "fake". He's done it to other of course too, but he is especially obcessive about my Caesar. He also likes to target Stevex6, though I've also seen him on occasion go after newer members here.
Sorry @ro1974 , but there is nothing to see here, nothing... It was just a weather balloon. Stevex6's alien saucer from Planet Ancient_Coins certainly did not crash here... This is not a cover up. Trust us! We would never lie about Stevex6, never!
He's been suspended almost the whole time I've been here, but people have been talking about him a lot. I just hope he lives up to expectations. He's been built up now.
well, i consider the thread he commented on and got kicked off for a "troll post" because that dude wanted to make a ring out of a nice coin and wanted to know what the peeps thought about it. stevers was never one to hide his feelings that i ever noticed and i like that about'em.. but, i guess we have to member we are supposed to be on "Leave it to Beaver" here as far as language use goes.
Well, there is always a little bit of difference between expectation and reality I wouldn't quite say you should expect the Second Coming of Jesus here when he arrives, but certainly Stevex6's return is the greatest event since man landing on the moon. LOL
Rehabilitated? I thought he was temporarily banned. I had no idea he got sent to the Cointalk gulag. Great, if the Cointalk Secret Police pays me a visit tonight, I'm pointing them your way, comrade. You should know better than to mention anything about those complimentary vacations to the resorts at the Cointalk salt mines.
In keeping with the theme of Steve inspired coins... Antoninus Pius, AD 138-161 AE, As, 27mm, 9.3g; 2h; Rome, AD 148-149 Obv.: ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P TR P XII; Laureate head right, aegis on left shoulder Rev.: MVNIFICENTIA AVG; elephant walking right with trunk raised In Ex.: COS IIII SC Ref.: RIC III 862(a), p. 134 MVNIFICENTIA AVG refers to the games he held during the celebration of his vota decenallia (AD 149). And the sweet coin below bears Steve's provenance: Faustina the Younger, Rome, AD 128-175 AE, 31mm, 23.72g; Rome mint Obv: FAVSTINA AVGVSTA; draped bust right wearing circlet of pearls Rev: IVNONI REGINAE S-C; Juno, veiled, standing left, holding patera & scepter; peacock standing left at feet, head reverted
Well had no idea that Stevex6 had been sent to the CT gulag. Oh well I'm sure he'll be back and have lots to share...... like if the potato soup really has potatoes in it ? Plus other fun facts. Like did he go directly to jail....did he collect $200? No matter what CT wouldn't be CT without him ....wishing him a speedy time while in detention.
Ya know I'm betting his wife wishes he find a new hobby......idle hands they say... Has anyone check and see if he's posting in the collecting foreign tennis balls forum?
I got my last "warning" (of sadly more than few) on the thread that got the vacation. But I think it was my first (ok my second) on the Ancients forum though. I'm not going to explain what I did to get any of them. I will say to those curious send a PM, not ashamed for any just should've handled it differently. I do miss Steve though he's a funny guy and even pretty smart. A coin of mine that has never been posted on CT before that I got because he inspired me, mostly because I've yet to attribute it correctly.
I think Steve knows enough not to try and fake a second account, as then permanent things happen like to mr. troll. Yes, he a is dynamic force for the forum, but all of us should remember sometimes a person has to mumble in his follis and not hit reply so fast.
I chuckled at that image! Yes, tell your troubles to the follis. You won't hurt it - that's the beauty of ancient coins. They're way past the point where a little heavy breathing can harm them.
I bet ya if we bribe the guards with let's say some chocolate bars, and maybe a pair or two of nylons.......we could get a stay.....
