I've had this penny for a few years, but never got it checked out. I suspect that the planchet split before the strike, because the design is imprinted on both sides yet is extremely distorted. It's very thin, and only weighs 1.9 grams.
Sorry, but it looks like it was in acid a long time ago and has toned up. Not only is it thinner, but from your pics, it looks like it has a smaller diameter
I do believe it took an acid bath. As the coin soaked, copper was removed in layers and it continuously became smaller.
