They may be minor but I did get a few listings this last week or so. @tommyc03, @green18, @Sheila Ruley , @cpm9ball Nickels: 2016 P WDDR-008, WDDR-009, & WDDR-010 Dimes: 2007 P WDDR-001, 2013 D WDDR-001, 2014 P WDDR-003, 2016 P WDDR-005, & 2016 P WDDR-006 Cool Beans?
It's a lot of hard work really and mostly under appreciated but it always important no matter what naysayers have to report. It's also how we keep ourselves fresh and the variety collectors active. Once listed on any site it then adds to the fun of the hunt for many others who may have missed them the first go round. Congrats Allen!
Well thank you Tom. It can certainly be hard work and at the same time a stress reliever for myself. But also an inexpensive way to collect for me. Sometimes it does stink though, under appreciated as you state. Stinks when you only have one example and can not pass one on to a fellow collector. Stinks when you find rolls of an example and no financial reward to spend the time reselling. Stinks when you give one to a fellow for his collection and then he lists on website months later for sale (not a forum member). Should I keep going.? Again, pesky lil buggers. Duke says it's cool beans, right Ken?
@Heater Well, you know those pesky little die cracks that almost no one cares about. Sold 200 of them today for $40.00. Am I getting rich? Nope. Did I advertise them as rare or worth a lot? Nope. Did I cover my time expended? Nope. It's a labor of love and sharing mostly. My postage was covered and it helped pay for some groceries this week. Someone, somewhere in Ridgeley, W.V. is going to have a lot of fun with them though. Mission accomplished.
Now Tom, don't be a jacckin this thread with die cracks! This was about pesky lil doubled dies . Die cracks?! lol
Notified but not yet listed on website. Dimes only. Darn, only received three out of five submitted. My eyes, my eyes,....two of five submitted were already attributed. 2014 P WDDR-004, 2015 P WDDR-008, & 2016 P WDDR-007 @green18 @tommyc03
Speaking of "buggers", too bad you are so far away or you could bring the truck down and spray my yard. Two weeks with only two days of sun. I am infested with ticks no matter how much I spray. Uggg.
About all you can do is dress right to try and prevent being ticked. The good stuff, she be available in a year or two with all the EPA roll backs a cummin from the new administration. & there you go again jackin my thread Back on topic. Should I go after 001 doubled dies on next submission or go with the standard found years and get higher numbers?
New nickel DDR listings for me: 2013 P WDDR-005, 2015 P WDDR-004, & 2016 P WDDR-011 They are still minor, certainly of no consequence, pesky.... but fun in IMHO. @Pickin and Grinin , @Nathan401 , @tommyc03 , @green18, @Sheila Ruley , @cpm9ball
Thanks for that my friend. My gusto came back as follows....@tommyc03 @Sheila Ruley New dime DDR listings for me just recently updated/posted on Mr. Wexlers site. 2005 P WDDR-001, 2012 P WDDR-001, & 2013 P WDDR-001. Of course these are minor and petty @cpm9ball . Not fake news . If I only could get a person to like coins more then trashing a 1st amen thingy.
Wow! You shall now and forever be enshrined in the Minor Hall of Fame. If it gives you a feeling of self-importance, then go for it. Petty? I don't believe I've ever used that word when describing minor varieties. Perhaps you used it as a form of self-deprecation. Chris
Well thank you Chris. I almost always value your opinion and certainly do on my petty mistake. Should give me some credit for 001 listings though, no?
What you don't seem to understand is that I am not against anyone who wants to search for minor varieties. What I don't care for is that nothing is ever mentioned about the slight numismatic value that most of these carry. Hardly a week goes by when newcomers state that they found this one or that one and they are ready to submit it for grading and attribution. Why don't you and the others who look for these varieties make it clear to them that they would be wasting their money getting them slabbed? Why does it have to be someone like me who must point out that these minor varieties are just not worth the cost of certification? Why don't you guys come out and say it when you post threads about your discoveries? Chris
I got $200.00 for a MS68 2009P Lincoln WDDR-043 7 Finger Formative Years variety. The rest was gravy. Someone out there likes them. That one coin paid for my entire submission at that time. James Porter completed the task of finding every listed Formative Years "P" errors, a major accomplishment for him and worthy of any show. Now he is working to put together a complete set of all the various die stages associated with these. Just sayin'. And no offense intended towards your post Chris.
@green18 @Sheila Ruley @tommyc03 @Mojavedave @Pickin and Grinin @Fred Weinberg @Nathan401 Well color me bad Chris. Where above in any of my posts in this thread did I say they were or are going to be slabbed/certified? Show me where. Why so rude? What I have posted in this thread are varieties that have been confirmed by Mr. Wexler and that is it. Is his opinion not valued by you? Are you better then he? Do you have a weekly/monthly column published in Coin World? Let me know when that happens. So now on to my minor finds. Not yet updated on Mr. Wexlers site but notified via email 7/1/17. 2004 P dime WDDR-001, 2014 P dime WDDR-005, & 2016 P WDDR-008
