1979-P SUSAN B ANTHONY DOLLAR COIN ON A QUARTER PLANCHET

    Hello,
    Would someone kindly explain to me how to identify a 1979-P SUSAN B ANTHONY COIN on a Quarter Planchet.

    By weight and the strike would be a touch weak

    A Susan B will weigh 8.1g, and a Quarter will weigh 6.3g. The weight difference will be obvious. And as Cascade mentions, a Quarter planchet is so much smaller that it's unlikely there will be enough metal for a complete strike, and if there is the coin will be noticeably thinner.

    Silver ones weigh 6.3, though, which is what I looked at in my haste to get an answer posted. :p
