Anyone check the US Mint product schedule lately? Yep, they slipped in another new set. Release date August 1st, 225,000 mintage, not silver, no price yet, no HHL. Sounds like it's going to be the crappy enhanced finish, like the 2014 Kennedy Half.
Where would I be without this forum to keep me up to date on US Mint Products! This looks like an exciting set so I'll be ordering a couple. But then, I have to order at least one to keep my DANSCO Kennedy set up to date with every issue.
I'm assuming that since they made the regular silver proof set that the US Mint did not see a need to make an enhanced silver proof set. Thank goodness. Too many products already on the market. I wonder how much this set will cost? $50 is my guess.
I think you may be low, I hope I'm wrong as I may spring for 1. I'm sure the big guys will be all over this.
I'm also guessing low. Here is the information on the set. https://catalog.usmint.gov/225th-an...ated-coin-set-17XC.html?cgid=product-schedule
Sounds interesting. I wonder if the coins will almost all be Gems. With such a small mintage I wouldn't be surprised. The coins from this set should make an interesting contrast to the S-mint ATB quarters.
I agree. I doubt that the set will approach the $50 mark. Remember folks, the Native American Enhanced Uncirculated only went for $14.95. The 4 coin Kennedy Set, all 90% Silver, went for $99.95 I don't know. I'm sure they max it out though.
I heard that these will be available at the Denver Coin Show in August. I'm smelling a bunch of First Strike™ and possibly First Day of Issue Labels which should drive the market crazy!!!! No doubt, a HUGE dealer Grab and massive lines!
Hi - maybe somebody can help me with this....I just contacted two different eBay sellers that were offering pre-sales on these sets - my question was simple.....the mint has yet to announce the cost of these sets; accordingly, if they don't know THEIR cost, how can they possibly set a pre-sales "asking"" price?? This is not the first time i've seen sellers offering items, the cost of which the mint itself had not yet made public? So, wot's up wit sat? (Smile) thanks!
I'm thinking it's a guesstimate on the price. They'll look at similar set & take a best guess. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Most likely. Some of the bigger sellers may have some mint contacts that gave them a range for what it will be in as well
Wasn't looking for these sets specifically....I had googled "enhanced UNC sets" and the ad took me to eBay..then I saw some sellers had already listed same wit a pre-sales order price which I thought was strange as they couldn't possibly have known their cost.... To me, that's like me offering to sell YOU car, before I even purchased one myself for resale - so many things can affect "my" final cost, how then could I offer you an accurate price?Seems like an awful risk to take.....
Lots of reasons, not all of which would necessarily apply here but some would include: ebay bucks, getting a price locked in you think will sell out fast, graded instead of raw, wanting to see which one you will get before buying, just not wanting to deal with the mint and their quality control issues anymore ect
