Looks like a combination of post mint damage from circulation wear and some MD.

Yeah it looks rough. The only reason I asked you all was cause the R up top looked tricky with the line I saw. Just wanted to make sure. Thanks a lot

Do you know much about Morgan's ? I purchased 1 from a site that was graded by NGC. Now when they grade are they looking for errors or could you still find an error on it? And it was graded at a 64 or 66 I think but you can see what looks like a scratch where it was cleaned with some sort of tool. I wasn't too happy about but I may be being to critical and it is graded right. Ill post if anyone feels like letting me know if grade is appropriate.

There might be a bit of machine doubling though, that occurred because of a bit of shifting when the coin was being struck.

I'm not sure if a grading company would miss an error on a Morgan dollar. Lol. Just an observation. Already graded coins usually should have the description of the error on the case

I was asking that question kind of. I didn't know if you sent in a coin for grading but did not specify certain things if they would grade it. I've never sent a coin in or dealt with any of the companies. So I could send in 2 sleeves of 1972 lmc and they would slab the diff varieties. Or if one had a lamination error as well they would label it automatically?
That would make sense but I've seen some weird stuff so had to ask.
