1974 Quarter mint error question?

Hello all,

I found this quarter in my pcoket. Its from 1974, no mint mark. But on the face side of the quarter the edging is thicker than normal. But that is not the biggest deal. On the back design, where the eagle's tail feathers are suppose to touch the leaves, the leaves are barely visible. It's more or less a smooth blob. Is this a rare error or a common thing? And what would be your estimates for value. Thanks.

I have a question? I have a 1974 quarter and on the front right side of the quarter I can see the number 472 or 422 imprinted in the coin. Strange !

 

Welcome to the forum! Sounds like someone punched the numbers in. Post a picture if you would like more information.
