So what number ( DDO ) do you think it is ?
Here's a hint, it has nothing to do with the outer devices ..

I wanted to say 6 but I'm in taco bell drive thru looking. I know for sure I have 10 at home and another with the reverse that looks like major crack through the 0 on reverse.
I found a 1969 D that looks like major doubling on the 6 ill post a pic of it when I get home. If I'm wrong dont tell me yet ill look better in 15 min

I have 9 and 10 at home for sure. Yours is 8 correct?

I was just looking and you must have hit send before me cause 8 was only obvious choice. I've been to Wexler site and can't seem to get to the different photos. I have to be going to the wrong site somehow.

There are multiple sites that have different attributions. This source has those and those other sources have these others and so on. You cannot rely on just one source for attributions and even if it's not attributed anywhere, it still may be something.

I don't disagree in the least, but, just the same, the OP is benefiting from your being able to make determination on nearly abstract interpretation since his pix actually don't even come close to showing the very defined doubling that should be easy enough capturing on a crude device. The fat B and outer devices shapes are clues, but, patently absent from the attribution pix.

It appears to me, turning that coin 180 degrees, relative to his light source at least somewhat reveal what the OP has made zero mention of seeing in hand, and frankly, if this is all HE (not you) is going off of, it's a WAG on his end, as well as for most anyone else that isn't as familiar with the varieties as you are.

NCR, do you have a good piece of hand glass/loupe/scope or anything good enough that you can actually see this in hand? You should consider snagging one if you don't and you'll be much happier with a high quality piece than a cheap bargain.

Back in my early days, I would check the sites and then the coin .
Now, I just know what to look for ..

Rick, that's not nearly enough gloating. I'm sure you should have a dance to go with it too. Maybe like the church lady on SNL. Lemme know when the video is posted. :)

In the meantime, lean on these guys to show what needs to be seen.

I am of the opinion that anyone seriously searching that is reliant solely on a cheap scope to pick off varieties are people whose searched rolls I'd buy. No, I'm not buying yours even if rolled by year and mint! I can't begin to imagine depending solely on the images like shown in the OP and not owning even a good loupe to see what 'that inspection' completely did not reveal.

There are several trying it that way and I'd say several are missing many.

I have been doing this less than a year and I have asked multiple questions on how or what to improve my pics with. I was told a 10x loupe with 25% zoom or no more so that's what I've been using. I'm obviously seeing the wrong thing and thinking its doubling or can't get my photos right. I've been working 7 days a wk for the last 3 or 4 months and hardly time to sit down so trying to look at coins when I can. Things will slow down soon and I will get a scope but you have to remember I can zoom in and see what I "think" is doubling with the 10x loupe after taking the pic so I assume everyone can. You seem to always down people and talk around them and not to them to help them ordinary fool or if I'm taking it wrong I'm sorry.
We all have to start somewhere and jumping right in with errors and varieties is not something I will learn in 6 months. People have been doing this 20 years and still get schooled every now and then.
I used 1 reference book because I thought they all had the same varieties they were all just categorized by different codes per Wexler, coneca , etc... If I had all day to sit and read to learn more I would. I have so many coins stacked ready to look up. I just ask about random finds because I don't want to just be told what something is. I will learn what I need to and hopefully be better at this soon. Rick you have been great and I appreciate all of your help as well as many others. Hopefully I do not cause any issues but this is not the first thread I feel like this. I have no problems with anyone. Just want to learn from my mistakes and enjoy this HOBBY. Thanks again guys for all the help.

You didn't hurt my feelings or anything. I'm a big boy. You just come off as trying to make the op look even more like an idiot. This hobby pretty good at doing that on its own. I may just be taking you wrong and did not mean any harm. Just speaking my mind. I just rather someone say rick you're an idiot that's not doubling this is what you are doing wrong. When you talk about what I'm doing wrong but don't point me in the right direction I'm still lost.
A lot of what is talked about in here I have no clue what you are others are talking about. I know its my fault for not taking the time to learn more before jumping right in. No hard feelings.
