This is a famous overdate USA dime. The 1941 die was changed to 1942 resulting in this coin. Now we are transitioned onto 1941. Post 'em if you got 'em.

@Collect89 man really I love your taste. The liberian coin and every coin you share are elegant.

I have no 1941 or 1940  I was very impatient with the thread being stuck in 1942 and eager to know what could be next to get out from this elongated year :D

    1941 loading...

    Japan Showa 16, 1 sen
    [IMG]

This weight of 5 sen is very uncommon. Am happy to have it in any kind of condition! In these war years not only were the coins debasing from copper to cupro-nickel and nickel types, but now to aluminum of ever lighter weights. Eventually the tin ones (some posted earlier) were made. The last 'coins' made were actually clay, but (though some may have circulated) were considered patterns by the Japanese and were not officially released.

    And now for something different...

    Liberia 1/2 cent:

and now we have King Victor Emmanuel III of Italy as the King of Albania after the Italian invasion.

Impatience is not a good thing for a serious collector. you may be tempted to buy and inferior grade coin because you cannot find the one you want. Have a little patience and all will work well in the end.
