I've been mulling over whether to attend the ANA show at the convention center in Denver, Aug. 1-5. It's a long drive from Eastern Oregon, but shows in the West don't come around that often, so I'm leaning towards making the trek. Is anyone else planning to attend? It would be great to meet some of the forum members who I've never met in person.
I figure i better go. Might be the only time I can since i live about an hour north of Denver. Will only be able to go Saturday though due to work.
This is the largest coin show in the world. There will be plenty of paper money there also. The exhibits alone make it worthwhile going.
They are very fun. Not only do you get to buy nice coins, you can talk with the dealers (the especially love young numistmatists), you can participate in raffles, I think ANACS may have a free submission this time too. There are rows and rows of booths with coins layed out. It really is fun plus its free for ANA members. Some coin shows are free and anyone can go.
FYI, You can save $2 off the $8 admission by using the coupon from the ANA World's Fair of Money website.
I'll bump this back up to see if anyone else has decided to attend. Looks like I'll be there for sure. I'm making it a camp-out road trip!
I've been at the show off and on for most of the week. The Mint and Bureau of Engraving are here and I spent a good deal of time chatting with Mike Beck, the guy doing demonstration printing on the spider press. He even pulled a nice little print of the Capitol, engraved in 1870!
I went today and will go tomorrow as well. @NNL do the YN Treasure Trivia in the Kids Zone, you get some really neat prizes and dealers give you prizes themselves.
