GTG - 1808 Capped Bust Half Dollar

I don't see the extreme eye appeal. I just see an improperly-cleaned coin that is acquiring a second skin. Nothing to get worked up about. VF bust halves are never supposed to look like this. You can tell that much from a blurry picture.

Out of curiosity I decided to look up all the other coins in the group. The first four had star designations and then I got to the fifth one:

Needless to say I chuckled a little when I saw this. I assume it must've had worse hairlines but I still thought it was funny.

 

Must be a lot of that going around.

By the way, the last sale price appears to be $575. So the star and color certainly added a premium. And with all the watchers on the current listing, it might bring more if it sells again.

 

And again to these baby blues a $149.00 cleaned coin. And would most likely pass on that amount . Someone must of gotten paid for letting this side by..... Not appealing at all.

 

First reaction to this for me was: Ooohh, I love the target toning, to bad about the..... And you can pretty much fill in the rest. I would pass on this pretty quickly unless it was less than a $100.00.
