The x are cool and different though not my favorite thing ever. What I don't understand is why they cost more than the normal ones if he is going to cancel the dies anyway

There are some blanks and coins that have been overstruck by actual US mint X cancelled Morgan dies over the years. One was an event that struck a limited quantity from dies in the Carson City Nevada State Museum collection. I've also seen a MTT struck with 78cc & 78s X'd Morgan reverses not connected to the Museum strikings. These go for big money to Exo collectors. This is a nod to that.

Different finishes can be priced differently. While I see where you're coming from about just Xing the dies I don't mind the few dollar price jump. He made them very limited at sub 100 And they sold out within hours. He could have done hundreds but kept them at a very reasonably low mintage. Similarly he sold the 15 flat edge Eclipse medals for nearly double the rounded edge ones and they were gobbled up too.

Here they be....I'll try and get better photos later. The Pirate, Lesher and Silver Owls look fantastic. I'll post some pics of them also.

Nope, none of this on this page is my particular "kettle o' fish". And I say that as someone who is driving over 800 miles each way to be in the totality stripe of the eclipse.

To be honest, the only stuff I DO really like of Carr's is the stuff that drives BooksB4Coins crazy. But I like that stuff a WHOLE STINKIN' BUNCH! :p:D:D

Thanks, I missed out on the other cobs. Glad to finally get one at a decent price. I'm very pleased with the one I got.

Also got some more shots of the FLAT Edge Eclipse. Haven't got any shots of the Round Edge yet. Almost looks like a Black Hole coin....

Yup. Sexy and very unique. Were you playing Pink Floyd when you opened it :)

You forgot to post the map side too though! What I find is a very nice, subtle touch is the apropos double meaning of him using his signature as the moon. Get it?! I haven't heard anyone mention that yet.

I can't wait to get my solar eclipse coin! We are close to the path in KY, but are going to my wife's family in TN to get better viewing. Already have glasses bought, and went and got the stamps from the post office as well. I plan on putting a stamp on each glass, and having them stamp it that day at the post office just as a souvenir.

Don't think I'll get much of a good view in socal but I remember seeing one when I lived on the beach in Playa Del Rey as a kid around 1991. My neighbor friends dad had a telescope pointed at it and a piece of white paper on the ground that showed it.
