I am new to this bUT I found a quarter that I couldn't tell if it was silver or gold. It's in between but beautiful either way. Can anyone tell me?
That is a regular copper-nickel alloy "clad" quarter with some nice toning. Probably heat-induced. Not worth anything, of course (well, OK, a quarter) but it is indeed quite attractive for a modern clad quarter from circulation.
It also could be Environmental Damage. Could of been affected by soil, dirt, sand, saltwater. I metal detect and have found several clad coins that look like yours.
it could be one of those gold plated quarters that the TV salesmen were peddling that went into circulation. I found a platinum or silver plated one a while back.
