It's a specimen that for my shield nickel collector I love to have....but personally I think the grade is rock solid.

You guys can't see it in-hand, which is essential for proofs. It's like holding a hunk of glass.

I love proof shields btw, Larry Briggs had a prooflike shield nickel in a segs slab once upon a time at the cona show. Wish i wouldve snapped a photo or 2 so i could study it to see if wasnt really just a proof

I was wondering? What are the Marks on each side of the shield. The right side, they look don't look like they are on the slab?
    MY fav. is Coors Light.

Mexican Beer used to be good. Sampled some recently and it was abhorrently, abysmally lacking in body and texture. Such a disappointment.....

    Couple things-
    1) THAT coin is the epitome of what this thread is about !
    2) Why on earth did they grade that at 64?
Its not even a super old holder.
3)Im noticing this generation of NGC has quite a few under graded Morgans, @jtlee321 has stumbled acrossed a few himself.
Lastly, that coin, to me, has a very clean cheek even for a MS66;)

Very nice, i think mercs are 1 of the easiest series to find undergraded like that.
What are we thinking on this one??
    67???

That looks like a pretty easy 67 to me.

Here's the one I posted at the start of this thread, after it came back from CAC.

...picked this up for $108. Probably graded correctly but looks like NGC (with the special label and it's the 69th coin graded in that sub) may have missed the suffix ;)

...here is another from same seller for scan comparison.

I actually agree with the grade on that one. The obverse field is pretty chewed up.
