    Faeroe Islands, 1941
    WWII

These were struck in London while Denmark was under German occupation and the Faeroe Islands were under British occupation.

I guess we could go Denmark, Faeroe Islands or 1941

Beautifull coin! Swizterland/ Swiss Cantons like Chur/Basel/Zurich/Oberwalden struck some of the most magnificent coinage. There is a Basel 30 Dukaten from 1741 that is to die for.

Shame about the damage to the reverse. Beautiful ducat though. I have a couple of the smaller denominations.....MUCH smaller.......1/4 Ducat

    Magnificent Quarter Dukat:happy:

Actually, that AV Basel Dukat came from Spink Auction....it was rated a FDC coin, many of these were weakly struck. Probably either worn dies, or poor strikes by guys in mint:( I have a perfect struck Quarter Dukat from Basel.
