Ken Dorney Yea, I'm Cool That Way...

BofA is exactly who charges me exchange fees. Maybe its one of those things were all you have to do is call up and ask nicely and they press that magic button.

Carausius Brother, can you spare a sestertius?

BofA has a special "travel" Visa card. If you don't have the special travel card, you'd pay the fees. I suspect the special card has a higher interest rate and/or fewer "points" benefits to make-up the cost of the "free" exchange transactions. I'm cynical by nature.

FYI, my VISA card is the "BankAmericard Cash Rewards Visa Signature" card. There is no annual fee, and I get cash back (minimum 1% up to 3%) on all purchases. There is no fee on foreign exchange transactions. These are all standard features on this card.

The APR on unpaid balances appears to be 13.99% but I don't know this for certain since this is a feature I don't use.

Personally, I would strongly recommend this card to anyone who travels overseas and pays his/her balance in full. (I never thought I would write the previous sentence about any B of A product.)

I received an updated invoice. 4% PayPal fee. Oh well. At 8 euros, shipping was a lot less than I thought it would be.

Could have been worse. Per PayPal's site, international sales incur a "4.4% transaction fee plus a fixed fee based on currency received".

I've bought from them before. They just want you to add 4% to the final amount. This is fairly typical for European auction houses that accept Paypal (most do).

My invoice from the June 4th Numismatic Nauman auction shows 3% of the combined hammer price and seelers fee added to the bill before the FedEx shipping cost. I'm ok with that as long as I'm made aware of it in advance.
