I spoke to someone yesterday who told me that she normally works filling orders but got pulled for the day to answer the phones. She explained to me what "on hold" means. It means the order has been accepted, but not yet validated (making sure the customer didn't order too many on the same credit card or from the same home address and that the credit card is valid). Once they pass that point, it goes from "on hold" to "in process".

When it gets to "in stock and reserved" the "cancel" box goes away and it's in the bag (actually in the corrugated cardboard shipping box).

Question for the group. How many of you made two separate orders , one for the Proof and one for the uncirulated, that are now in the "In process" phase. I have an inquiring mind and I want to know. Thanks ....

I went throught the trouble of doing both in the same cart (though it took an extra 45 mintes). I just felt it increased my chances of getting both.

Same here. The checkout process was the slowest part; I wanted to have to do it only once.

I sometimes go to the Parsippany show (not regularly).
I didn't know about the Burlington show. Thanks for the "heads up".

    Hey Dreamer94

lot of the dealers from Nort and Central Jersey there like John from Bergen coin. Plus some from Philly
The Burlington show is smaller then the Parsippany show but I like it because it easy to get to. It is about 100 feet from the RT 295 exit (47-A) or about 8th of a mile from Turnpike Mt Holly exit 5

Thanks. It's a bit too far from where I live for tomorrow, but I'll keep it in mind for the future.

Is anyone else having problems getting order status on their order? Mine was coming up fine a few days ago and seems to have since disappeared...

"Sorry, your order was not found. Please check the order number and resubmit. If you continue to receive this message, please contact Customer Service to request the status of your order."

    Hopefully it isn't just me?...

They finally show the proof jefferson as not available on the mint website, maybe prices will start rising now.

Interesting that the Uncirculated is not yet shown as unavailable.
I wonder how many people ordered the proof and not the Unc.

I would think they must have taken at least 50,000 orders for the proof Jefferson and until they cancel the orders of those 30,000 that won't get one they will hang on hoping. I bet the mint did this to see the demand for future spouse coins and may set next years mintage on these order numbers. I still think they shouldn't use this coin as the gauge as it will be the most popular design of them all IMO.

If that is the case though then I still think the proof 2007 spouse coins could be the keys in proof and the Jefferson will be the most valuable proof. The only other coin that may sell higher could be the eventual low mintage UNC spouse that will be released in later years. Possibly the last coin of the year out of the four [Margaret Taylor, Lucretia Garfield , Frances Cleveland, or Edith Wilson].

Right now looking at how these coins are selling on EBAY you would think I am nuts saying this, but I think it will take time to happen if I am right. The catalyst will be the final shipments for the Jefferson, then the starting mintages with next years coins. When the mint says what the max mintages are for next year it should bump up the prices for the proof coins, expecially the Jefferson.

I don't think you are nuts. The full potential of an issue might not be evident for many months after issue. The 20th anniversary ASE sets took about 9 months to peak before dropping back a bit. At the moment, there's a bit of a glut on the secondary market which is suppressing prices. Apparently many of the sellers are compelled to sell soon so they are accepting lower prices.

Here is a chart that shows how long it may take a key coin to rise in value. I think eventually the four coin Libertys will be sold in sets by HSN and on Ebay and that will further drive these up in price. But by the end of next year three of the four will be out and that will be when we see for sure how these do so I don't think it will take years with this one.

All the coins in the chart are coins have very low mintage and people don't realize how low the mintage until years later. There are probably less than 1000 of 1999 w $5 and 1999 $10 them produced. I wouldn't buy 2004 w PF70 $50, about half the coins NGC graded that year is PF70 and the mint produced 28731 of the $50 proof, so there are potentially 13000 PF70 out there.

So far Buffalo Dollar is the only coin that have high mintage and relative high value. To me the more popular the coins are the worse the investment it is, look at Ben Franklin dollar. It sold out very fast, I had preorder for 4 coins but my credit card that was on file with he mint got canceled due to fraud and I forgot to change it to different card, so my order got canceled. And a year later I bought the 4 Franklin coins on ebay for original selling price.

With mintage of 20000, there is no way those spouse coins will appreciate like those low mintage coins.

    I have 2 1999 W $10 and I bought Jackie Robinson before it went up :)
