If you talking about the lifted scratches that look like the same like between the eagle and moon, in the fields, that would be die deterioration I believe
Die deterioration usually radiates from the center of the coin toward the rim because that is how the metal flows when it is struck. The lines you see on the Ike were probably caused by a light cleaning of the die. What I don't understand about the OP's Lincoln is why it was necessary to post ten images of the reverse when one would have sufficed. Chris
the OP was posting as many images of the reverse of the 86 to show the multiple of what appears to be Lincolns in the bay, Die abrasions, A rather large die crack so on so forth.
That's what I am saying about smart phones haha. They are so smart that they have to fix problems we never had to deal with on apps, and if you don't update the problem, your phone takes a dump on you till you update.. sooooo smart. Can't even click the right thing anymore I miss buttons.
Although he didn't mention to look at this, but what's that? I thought that looked like a die crack. See how it goes thru the letter. But I always thought die cracks had to look sharp. At first glance it looks like a hair but then i looked at it closer
Gee! Why didn't I think of that? DOH!!!!!!!! So, what were the six obverse images for? Oh, I get it! So, you would be sure to know that he was discussing a 1986 Lincoln. We wouldn't want you to forget that, would we! Chris
Assuming the light scratches are raised (sometimes hard to tell from the pic), I agree with Chris. Die polish from trying to clean up a clash or some other damage.
You seem to quite often try to make a person look like a fool. He ask for help but instead you dog the guy for to many pics. You do this so much why even say anything if your going to be a jerk to the fellow?
That's right! I have fun trying to make people look like a fool when they have been around long enough to know better. For the record, there are more people, here, who correct others about doubled dies than I ever do about too many photos. If you question my veracity, feel free to search all 28,000+ of my posts. I'll bet you won't find more than one or two that even mentions "too many photos". "Quite often"? Geez! Talk about someone exaggerating! Chris
Only thing I see you doing is teaching him how to do things, while he feels stupid that he don't know how to do it lol. It is rather annoying that I take so much time to try to make things perfect while other people just post and don't care that we have to scroll down the thousand pictures just to see the comments. Takes about a minute longer than it needs to. You could take the extra minutes to delete them and make it easier on us haha die to the fact that we are helping you learn. I'd say thanks Chris for showing me the edit feature!
I agree Often I wanted to ask this community a question, but why do it when all you're gonna get are smartass remarks.
First, welcome to the neighborhood! So, I see that you joined just so you could post this smart-assed comment. Makes sense! Chris
I'll just say this and I'll not say other things I was thinking. Chris don't you think I tried to edit the post? My computer went out as I was making this thread so I picked back up on my phone and for some reason it doubled several pics and for some reason this phone won't let me edit posts. I don't know why but I can say this smart phone needs to go back to school.
Tyler I don't know if you were implying there is something wrong with my intelligence by the "stupid" comment what exactly are you saying?
