I like them both, but if I had to pick one, it would be B.

They are both nice, but I voted based on the device I found most interesting

    ... which was? ;)

Added some additional poll options to make it more scientific accurate entertaining. :D

First, I picked the second coin because of the clear, sharp device. Second, I don't like the additional options since more than one applies (I love bacon).

B, but what is the price difference? A is certainly a nice coin with great eye appeal and good centering.

Ahh... but do you like bacon more than coins with flying horsies on 'em? Therein lies the rub. The thin line between the true numismatist and the diehard bacon aficionado.

Me, I'd go with coins over bacon, if only slightly. But if you combined the bacon with guacamole... well... all bets are off, then. Bacon + guacamole = manna from heaven.

Come to think of it, if memory serves me right, there are good forgeries resembling (if not the same) as B, so be sure to check the various fake coin reports.

Toss up for me. I can't resist bacon at all

    A's list price = $575.

    B's list price = $550.

One coin I was offered a modest discount on. The other was on sale. More on that later, perhaps. Essentially both in the $500-550-ish range, though.

I will add that one coin has been reserved for me but I'm going to back out of the deal - I will be buying a different coin from that dealer instead.

The other I just pulled the trigger on and paid for. It will be here soon, but is not yet in hand as of this post.

What kind of bacon are we talking about in the poll? Because depending on the type of bacon, I might have to go with that option.

As Doug might say, I'm a cheapskate, so I'll go with the bacon. The coins are too rich for my blood and don't taste nearly as good as bacon.

B is or was for sale by the very seller who hosts the site where most of those fake coin reports can be found. ;)

Basic bacon. Applewood smoked, if you like.

But without guacamole. Tsk, tsk. More's the pity.

I will say that I like the toning and surfaces on A while I like B for the higher grade and round flan.

In a perfect situation (like when bacon is combined with guacamole), it would be dreamy to own Coin B with Coin A's toning and surfaces.

If all that matters is eye appeal/preservation, go with B. Otherwise, if none of those matter I'd go with Epirus. However, get both if you can. Both are amazing coins and in a few years you may wish you had bought them when they were still "cheap".

A does have better toning, but B better detail. What a hard choice.

Ken Dorney Yea, I'm Cool That Way...

Once again we see a discussion of apples vs oranges. This all boils down to what we individually feel or see in a coin. I personally prefer toned coins, so I voted for A. But if one is only considering grade, go with B. The Ambracia is much scarcer, so that has something. Bottom line its up to you. Forget what we all say....
