Howdy all, I've got a pretty straight forward question for ya. I'm interested in obtaining either US Mint or Original Bank rolls of Pennies, Nickels, Dimes, Quarters (all 5), Halves and Sac. Dollars for year 2000-2003. I have looked on Ebay and they all seem a bit overpriced, but I really don't have anything to judge that on. Can single rolls of an individual year of coin be obtained from the US Mint and if so how? Can you just walk into a bank and ask for a single roll of all one year of a coin type, and if so are they going to be circulated or new uncirculated? Thanks in advance for all your help.
The US Mint has been selling rolls of dollar, half-dollar, and quarters, you can check what they have available currently at their website usmint.gov. You can go into a bank and request rolls of specific coins. You might not get it, but do ask. Your best bet is with the quarters, as the banks have gotten a lot of requests for quarters in the past few years and are used to it. Also, if you get rejected at the first bank you try, don't give up. If you have a coin club in your area, do join. That's the best way to grow your collection, and the people in the club would be able to direct you to the most helpful bank for getting rolls too. Also, see if there are any coin shows in your area. It's far better to buy at a coin show than off Ebay.
