    Strike: 63
    Luster: 65+
    Eye Appeal: 64
    Contact marks: 65

The luster on that is killer (but luster always comes out well in your pictures). I think the reverse has great eye appeal, but the obverse is neutral to slightly negative (in my opinion). The obverse is remarkably mark-free. The reverse has some hits on central areas which limit the grade. All this works out to a 65, in my opinion.

Thank you for the great breakdown. I've really been enjoying your detailed critiques in these recent GTG's.

Thanks! I've recently come to the realization that a single numerical grade doesn't really do a coin justice. After a few discussions here and on the NGC boards, I think I've decided that this is the new way that I am going to grade - an individual grade for each of the 4 major factors. I will, whenever possible, accompany this with my explanation. For the amount we pay TPGs, I would love it if the hobby moved in this direction (for example, ancients get a strike and surfaces grade from 1-5 at NGC).

Because that's the way the TPGs do it, I'll wrap it all up into a single number.

Eventually, I'd like to evolve this to a 1-5 scale for each of the attributes. A few companies used to do this (ACG, and the old photoseals from ANACS). I really think this is a more useful way to grade a coin.

Always love Jason's assessments regarding grading.......:)

First impressions/gut feeling is '65, but I lack the eloquence and expertise to express my position.

Haha, thanks. Sometimes I'm right, sometimes I'm wrong - but I'm always going to be an outspoken ass! ;)

I am going with 65. I am trying to collect the Peace Dollars in 64 grade and this one looks a bit better than what I have seen so far. A very nice looking coin!!

    I am at 65.
I have been liking this style of grading. Lehigh used it on a different thread.
    I would grade it.
    S 64,
    L 65
    E 65
    C 65
An easy 65 when I saw it.

I think it's a 65 all day long. Nice peace dollar. I'd own it.

MS64 but MS65 would not shock me. Excellent photos as always!

I am comfortable in the 64 range, a bit too much chatter possibly for a 65, but the color and tone is amazing, and will surely garner a premium in any grade.

    Beautiful!!!
