Good afternoon! A week ago I happen to read this thread and wanted to try and see if I get the same result like Tyler did. First couple of smoke shops I went to was a bust. Some of them even thought I was weird asking for dollar coins. I think I was on my fourth shop, decided to buy a scratcher which happen to be a winner($10). So he asked me if I want more scratchers or cash. I said cash and then asked him if he had any dollar, half dollar or any odd looking coins. Gave me the same look as the other guys from previous shops. Then he said he did have some, so I asked for a $10 worth. He gave me 10 $1 Pres coins. Asked him he had other types,. He pulled out one bag and and showed me it's contents. He had Bicentennial dollar, a 71 72 73, 79 Anthony dollar. He also had the bicentennial half-dollar, 70s 80's 90s 00s plus the Sacagawea dollar coins. Ended up getting $84 worth of coins. He said if he ever get more he'll save it for me.
I guess smoke shop's the place to be.

I know bro! And the conditions of some of the coins are great. My eldest saw it yesterday and was asking questions like what year was the coin, why it has diff dhapes and size and if the gold ones were real gold. Finally he asked me how much I have. I said $84 total but I haven't really checked the condition so it might be more. He said, "Cool, you can buy me Arms for the switch. It comes out tomorrow." Lol

1972, type 2 Eisenhower dollar coin I believe is either silver or low mint year. Then 1974 Eisenhower is silver. 40%. Then we got anything 1964 below, in Kennedy halves are 90% silver. 1965-1970 is 40% silver. Legal to melt

I can't quite tell what you're trying to say here. Silver Ikes were issued from 1971 through 1976, but they were also issued in clad each year. There were no silver ones in 1977 or 1978.

It's not the case that all 1974 Ikes were silver.

In other words I really don't know what I am talking about, some of this is confusing but if you know what to look for you can find silver coins in the Ike's dollar coins. Basically what I'm trying to say is I haven't figured it all out yet.

The silver Eisenhowers have to be S mint marks. And as was stated previously,
there are S mint marks that are clad, and S mint marks that are 40%.

Actually I really don't see anyone who said that. Maybe I missed it or it was said on another thread but I don't see it up there, not that bit matters because now I know, thanks.

Quoting the post where it was explained that clad S's and silver S's were produced in the same years.

Look back and read it haha I see no S mentioned. Trust me I am sure that no one said it. If they did, it's pretty hidden hahaha. I read this thread three times too to make sure. And also you said that after I mentioned about this. It doesn't matter though, I now know.
