1982 spread... confused on which are more sought after.

Hey there,

I have been up sorting my 1982s yes it's 3am... I have a few pictures on my set for 1982. But I am at ends for which are valued over others... and I don't think I will be coming across a 1982-D bronze small date any time soon haha.

But please help point me in the right direction..

Left four 3.1g each.... five to the right are 2.5g... large and small dates.

Welcome to CT. Hope you enjoy it. But in your survey you left off the one I would have checked. None of the above. They are all to common and not worth my time. For under $10.00 you can get all of them, identified and in BU.

 

Haha but if you had to pick one, which would it be. First time using the poll, thought it would be a great idea to get some intell on this year. I can add a "none of the above" if you would like? Haha

But I am happy I figured out small vs large dates. I was going to post a thread about it. But i went ahead and read and researched it more before asking for assistance. It's rather simple. Happy I didn't waste anyone's time with a easy question haha

WHY WOULD YOU CHOOSE THAT PARTICULAR PENNY?

 

Just as a friendly reminder, typing in all CAPS, is considered shouting and in bad form in a forum.

That being said the reason for that choice of coin, is that I know of only 1 in existence that has been found. However it stands to reason, and logic would dictate that there are probably a few others floating around out there waiting to be discovered.

 

OOPS -- I was just excited to see that was the penny someone choose, and didn't even notice that my YELLER lock was still on. =)

From what I can see and derive based on your photo and displayed scale is a 1982 large date copper Lincoln cent.

The easiest way to identify the small date from the large date is the numeral 2. Take a look at this link and it will help explain, you also may find a wealth of additional Lincoln information there as well. Good luck in your search

I also chose the 1982-D bronze Sm Date.

My second choice would be a 1982-P Bronze small date as these are really hard to come by here in Montana. It's the only LMC missing on the 1st page of my 1959-1998 Whittman book.
