What I want to know will gold crack $700 tonight. If it does I will have about $75 in the coin (for a little while anyhow) Paid more for that than a washington error coin and the washington is not nearly as pretty. Of course poor old George was not hired for his looks.

Go Colts, go Saint now that is what I call important.

First of all, 20% return in 10 weeks would make any stock broker's day. Most investors would be thrilled with 15% in a year.

Second, be specific. Name one thing that you believe will appreciate more than 20% over the next month. You don't even have to take the risk of buying it. Just tell us how you'd invest $850 today and let's see how your investment compares to the Jefferson First Spouse proof/unc set in 1 month, 2 months, 6 months, 12 months, any time frame you specify. Then you can show us how smart you are.

How can your order for the spouse gold be in process today if you canceled it yesterday?

    Just wondering...

From what I have heard the Jefferson spouse Proof sold out at about 2:15 EST PM and the UNC was available for a while longer so if your order stamp is before then you will probably get them.

As far as prices go I still think it is important to distinguish between Proof and Unc as the sales show. The proof sold out first and 20,000 is a low number for modern proof gold coins, only the gold reverse proof is less and I think that says a lot.

I still think the jefferson proofs will be over $1000 in a year if not sooner, and that is for PR69. PR70 PCGS will be probably $1500 or more easy by the end of next year. After the next two LIBERTY gold are released and those have higher proof mintages these will reflect that. That's just my guess on it, it is hard to predict the coin market though as we all know. Of any of the spouse coins though I think this is the Liberty one to own as the other three will have higher proof mintage so this will be the key.

The UNC is a different story, I still think for the Liberty this will be the lowest mintage but maybe not for the entire series. I can see one coming in at 15,000 or even lower if the mint floods the market one year.

Good luck to those that purchased these, no way am I cancelling my order on this one. I think even the proof Martha and Adams should do well, but not be more than 50% over cost perhaps.

Centdime, I think you are incorrect in your statement that the proofs sold out at 11:15 EST....I myself ordered a proof and UNC at 11:43 and both have ship dates of 9/24, and my Grandfather also ordered one of each at 11:59, and his both have a date of 9/24 and his order is "In process."....

The mint has produced 20,000 proof and 20,000 unc. The proof sold out in 2 hours 15 minutes and the Unc was available throughout the remainder of the day.

Personally I prefer the Unc's. , but it seems that there is a much stronger demand for the proofs.

I think you'll be OK. Which credit card did you use? I used Amex and probably that is why it is on hold, I have more or less the same number and I am on hold. I called them and everything seems fine, so don't worry!!

Same with me, I also called the credit card company to make sure the charge would go through.

I went and check my status today and there was no change. The interesting part was a survey poped up to ask me about the us mint product web site and the usefulness of the information.

I basically told them the information on the order status screen was practically useless and "Order Status: Your order request is on hold. " means nothing to me. I could think of a 1/2 dozen questions based on this one message without a moment of hesitation. They need to put some more meaningful messages up with some goal orientated information. I hope everyone gives them the same message. The bad part is that the customer service people cannot answer any of the questions a message like this raises. I told them that too. Watch - now they will cancel my order for giving them an honest answer. :-O

I ordered very late, 4:15pm, my order is still "in process", order #2631.... so if it's sold out in 2 hours or so, I may not get it.. Expected to ship on 10/09/2007 for both, yesterday one was 9/24/2007

"In process" is good; better than "on hold". Much better than "cancelled".
