I have a hockey game for my son this weekend so unfortunately I must post the results rather early. Keep on GTG though.

That's what I saw first as well.
That makes me think it may be UNC Details - Scratched

Well glad I'm wrong and the scratch isn't as bad as the photos made it look.

And now that we know everyone can go ahead and throw that grade out the window because that pretty baby would almost certainly bring 65 money if not more

I'm in the 64-65 camp. The hair makes it hard to tell.

Wow, that one has killer toning. In fact, perfect toning.

I was bamboozled by the apparent mark in the field behind Chris' head so I wasn't sure what to say. I did think it was MS, but wasn't totally confident of that, and I thought you might be trying to trick us by posting a "details" coin with killer eye appeal (the kind that usually gets busted out of bad plastic and put into a Dansco).

I'm glad it wasn't a "details" coin. That's a stunner, and would be no matter what, regardless of technical grade.

The op coin with out a doubt has eye appeal . But judging from the replies all over the board I am not seeing grade wise a 64 coin here. And again judging from the responses others don't either. Yes the toning is beautiful but the rubs and wear is what threw me off. Compare it to the other image of an ms 64 I posted. That is very close to the op coin I see 1 hit on it that most probably kept it from a 65 holder.
Again not raging on the op coin as I would love to have a toned specimen as such in my collection .
My beef is with the grader as PCGS for sure missed the boat on this one.
And again judging from the replies most of you were also.

Looks to me like most called this a 64 or better. I agree with the PCGS grade.

I think if you go back and look at what was said it was split down the middle from xf to 65. No one said it wasn't an eye appealing coin. However when you have guesses that range from Au 58 - Ms-66 this certainly is a specimen that can be deceiving . It most certainly shows wear and compared to another 64 toned very close to the toning on this coin you can see the difference.
I venture to say if cracked and sent in for a regrading it wouldn't grade a 64. Now as for
the eye brow and cheek that's a rub or wear not strike.

Nothing split down the middle about it. Most called it an MS grade. If you go back and look, you will see that.

Cristofo Colombo was Italian. This is clearly a case of discrimination against Italians.

64 and I'm not a big fan of toning. That said, this coin is nicely toned.

Don't... these can be tough when not in-hand, plus on technical merit alone, it wouldn't have graded so high. Beautiful coin though.

It definitely got some bonus points for the color.........

On technical merit, this is a $30 coin, plastic and all. But that kind of grading went out with my bell-bottom jeans... ;)

64 seems like a fair grade for this coin. The toning on that is unusually attractive. I like it - and a 64 seems reasonable for it.
