Can you put together a portrait collection of 'The 12 Caesars' on a budget? Yes you can.

It always seems to me that, no matter how "rough" an individual coin might seem, the whole (collection) is always greater than the sum of its parts. Good job!

Twelve Caesars 'Portrait' set for under $500.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. Much appreciated - thank-you.

I just managed to secure an 'Otho' for $200 LESS than the previous one, so my Twelve Caesars 'Portrait' set comes in at less than $500. (I am 'stoked'.)

I managed to accomplish a 12 Caesars set under $500/coin.*

Missed this thread- it seems it was posted during my early-2017 "hiatus".

"Twelve Caesars on a Budget" is a theme dear to my heart. It was a lot of fun.

(*-The Caligula shown in that link cost me $550-ish, but it was an upgrade to two earlier ones, both of which caught terminal bronze disease. I've only had two coins with bronze disease ever... and both had to be Caligulas. How unlucky is that?)

    That Vespian is awesome!!!!

Good job on the set! I wonder if PCGS or NGC could make a registry contest:happy:

    What's a "registry contest?"

Those look great! Nice presentation. I like the blue background.

Fill that black hole, man! :woot:

PS- very handsome toning on the Trajan (2nd coin, 3rd row).
