I think I found a 2000 d dime that has an error. It looks like a penny with a dime stamped on it.

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

It's been spooned or run through a very many dryer cycles.
    It's not a mint error.

Just to add to rickmp's comment, that's what we call PMD, or Post Mint Damage. Good news - your dime is still worth a dime. :)

Well that's great news! Thank you very much for the info I'm new to this but I'll keep searching!

ACoinJob There are still some out there to be had.

A cheap way to make a ring. I made a few "rings" of cull wartime nickels, and cull Standing Liberty Quarters, but real silver is more desirable to make rings than clad I would suppose.

My first thought was that it was "spooned" as well, but after seeing the lack of detail in the legend and central devices, I would say that this was a dryer coin, too.

I agree on dryer coin, spooned does not make sense to me personally. How would anyone make a spooned coin out of a dime? im a big guy and my fingers are big so I cant say much about spooned coins but I've never met anyone that can wear a spooned dime lmao.
