Very nice! I have an Alexandrian tet of Diocletian that doesn't weigh half that!

Here's a decent Decius from my collection:

@Mat What is the closest thing to a standard weight for these? It would help to know.

Nice coin @Mat, like @Orfew above, @Aethelred is getting more and more interested in coins from Alexandria.

    Dang it!

People: these Alexandrians are not nice coins. They are ugly, mean, and will bully the rest of your coins. They also smell bad. It's best to stay far far away from these.

    ;)

@TIF I know your only wish is to be helpful, that is why I feel so guilty for suspecting you have nefarious motives for posting that warning about mean, stinky Alexandrian coins. Please forgive me!:shifty:

...and they wear cheap makeup to make them look orange or yellow. Who would want to collect such shallow coins?

Well this thread turned amusing, fast.:hilarious:

Most I have seen are in the 11.5-13.9 range. Very few past 14g.

Much later tets hardly go past 9-10g.

It is not right to judge a coin's lifestyle choices.

WOW @Mat , that is a MONSTER Tet... and it is in great shape! That is virtually a HALF-TOZ! Nice capture... Eagles always are a favorite of mine, but that is a strong theme throughout Alexandrian coins. I like the surfaces on yours.

I only have one Trajan Decius, and it is an Ant... but the reverse is what I think is cool:

RI Trajan Decius 249-251 CE AR Ant Dacia draco standard.jpg

That is an awsome tet @Mat
I don't have a Decius yet, I just haven't found it yet. Although it's climbing the want list pretty quick.
Yeah, I love those smelly make up wearing Alexandrians to :D:D
