@Numismat- that was a killer trench art piece. You probably know I like that stuff.

Personally, I'm more accustomed to seeing WW1 than WW2 pieces.

    What a terrific medal!

It'll be a while before I run out of 1901 British coins. Be warned. ;)

    USA or 1842.

I begin the original "Coin Uno" thread on Collectors Universe in 2005, when I invented this game concept.

(@ldhair called the later spinoffs "Follow the Leader", which is admittedly a better name.)

This was the very first coin posted in the original game.

So we are still on the U.S.

Nothing special. This coin was from a family member that passed way in the late 70's. Always loved the look on this one. It wasn't treated with any special care through all the years that she had it, but it looks well cared for.

Hey, nothin' says they've gotta be "special". I've posted junk to gems and everything in between. If it fits what's in play, play it!

Besides, you've gotta tip your hat to the workhorses who did their day in commerce, and ... sentimental " family heirlooms"? Always special.

Would you believe I don't have a Morgan dollar handy?

I can do USA or 1890, though.

    Hmm...

But, but, but, but ..... you are not allowed to play the same coin twice!!

Let's dip into my "Box of 20" and sail the USS Monitor to the Battle of Hampton Roads.

Wild card: 1863 or USA OR Civil War token, to the next player.

(And it doesn't even have to be the American Civil War. Any dated World civil war or siege coinage will do- like Irish gunmoney, for instance.)

United States: bronze Civil War token, "Our Little Monitor" type, 1863

'Course you can. You think I've played this game for 12 years with no repeats? The deck of cards gets shuffled and recycled in most card games, dunnit?

You just have to wait a few months or years between replays, is all. ;)

Well Stork said otherwise. But I suspect you know the rules better. Now I understand why this game can never end!

Plus that was a different thread (PCGS and US coin forum). ANY Civil War? I have a couple photos to go crop...

    edited to add:

Oops, I didn't mean to make up a rule earlier. I was just trying to keep myself from doing too many repeats. Especially when I realized I'd used one coin three times.

I say we stick to the OP of this version of the game. Too confusing otherwise.
