I've been chasing this guy for a while, but usually his coins are a bit too steep for my current coin-budget ... oh, and this guy certainly wasn't cheap but he was within striking distance so I took the shot!! "BAM" => another ruler in the bag!! Clodius Albinus. Nice "Dom the Bomb" too Here's mine Domitianus, Denarius minted in Rome AD 95-96 IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM PM TRP XV, Laureate head of Domitianus right IMP XXII COS XVII CENS PPP, Minerva standing right holding spear and shield 3,21 gr Ref : RCV #2734 v, Cohen #292 Q

Congrats Steve.....Your price does seem more typical but still a great value for the type IMHO. Love all the posts guys....I wish I had access to my '.library' to pile on
I have never bought a Rome mint denarius of Albinus. I did buy a rough As. An Alexandrian mint And some of him as Augustus which are quite a but scarcer.
Man, Martin is making me feel a bit like TIF usually does ... "Martin, Martin, Martin!!" Just jokes, Martin => I love your Clodius Albinus examples too (awesome)
Nice addition, Steve. CLODIUS ALBINUS (193 - 195 A.D.) AR Denarius O: D CLOD SEPT ALBIN CAES, bare head right. R: MINER PACIF COS II, helmeted Minerva, standing front, head left, holding olive-branch, resting hand on shield set on the ground, spear against arm. 19mm 3.34g RIC IV 7; BMCRE 98; RSC 44. I like Clodius Albinus - fine looking fellow. Martin showed what I consider the top items. Rome mint 193 AD with COS but NOT COS II - This obverse die is common and unusual for the poor treatment of the eye rolled up. Many you will find with the PROVID AVG COS reverse will use it. Rome denarius Aesculapius with COS II so 194 AD Rome Felicitas - This is the type issued at Alexandria but they come from Rome also. Alexandria Felicitas - right side obverse legend ALBIN CAES right side obverse legend TALBIN CAES right side obverse legend BIN CAES AE denarius (fourree core) with portrait that looks too much like Septimius and has a reverse suitable for Commodus As Augustus with serious die clash which broke the reverse die leaving a cud. The reverse type is GEN LVG like the one Martin showed. There are nice sestertii portraits but many are not well struck overall. The rarity I'd like to add would be a Provincial. They are not common in any way but the twin portraits facing with Septimius and Albinus is on my want list. https://www.cngcoins.com/Coin.aspx?CoinID=70313
Great capture Steve! Those are tough to get and you have a nice example! Centered, lettering, detail... Dude, you did shell out a few conches for this! I have one: (Terrible pic, but at least I got it within the lens ) RI Clodius Albinus 193-197 CE AR Denarius ROMAE AETERNAE Roma seated ex: @John Anthony
congrats on that CA denarius stevex! this cat is on my list, but i honestly doubt if i'm going to be able to nail him any time soon....several on my list are much easier to obtain than him.
