Yeah, What he said! We were the first to get it right.

Very nice coin, Heavy. Very appealing to the eyes, IMO. Nice, even wear.

I told my wife this morning when you posted the picture. I saw that skyline view for 22 years driving from Dayton to Columbus to work. My guess you were around Hilliard or Grove City. My 1833 was graded at the Columbus coin show 15 years ago. Weird! Small world!

Both the book "Photograde" and PCGS photograde rate this as VF-15 but due to grade deflation by the TPG's an EF-40 wouldn't surprise me. The only useful purpose of the TPG's is authentication and a recent article in Coin World showed PCGS as authenticating 2 counterfeit coins. Wished I had saved that article.

If a coin shows a little luster, and I think this one does, 35-40 is about as low as you can go. At least that's my understanding.

Yea, i was hoping someone would mention the amount of wear vs amount of luster for the grade.
I could be wrong, but i believe this coin isnt showing as much wear as you assume at 1st glance, i believe it to be a weak strike, hence the XF grade.
I know exactly where to look on a Morgan to determine weak strike vs wear but on a bust half not so much. Can anyone help me out here? Im thinking the definition of the stars would be a good place to start ?? Any place else????

    I'm glad she found a new home ... :)

I regret that I didn't take better images of her...
