it's a memorial cent... fairly recent... still has its original luster... it was stamped off-center, so half of it is blank, a problem is that it's stamped so far off that you can't see the whole year on it.... you just see 19, and the rest is cut off, so it could be as old as 1960-1999, i'm quite sure it's closer to 2000, probably in the 90's, but does it decrease in value because it's impossible to tell what the date is?

I don't have a decent camera to take a close up picture, so I'm trying to be descriptive.

I suppose a picture would be helpful/needed in this case, well... I don't have a picture, but I did buy the thing at a coin shop.. for about 10 bucks a few years ago, but I'd imagine it would be worth more if you could tell what the date was, that's probably why it was being sold for 10 bucks, but I could be wrong.

What you paid is about the going rate.

Okay - first thing is to get a camera. I like to see pictures of other's coins. I am not good at grading coins, but I like to try. As for dating the coin - a picture might help someone else, me I just want to see the coins. :D

Just to be PC, it isn't stamped, it is minted or struck.

I think NC (numismatically correct) would be the proper term hehehe

And to be on topic, I'll say this again, OP, if you want to sell the coin, stick it on EBAY. It's like a crapshoot with error prices over there lately. Could go for 2 bucks or could go for 100 to 200, depending on if someone who sees it has enough money to overpay without concern.

You can figure out if it is after or before 1982 by weighing it.
