Photos are below. I work at bank and have picked up just a handful of coins over the years. Today I picked up my best 2 conditioned coins being (circulated but looks uncirculated 1971 and a 1972 Eisenhower) I know that's not too impressive but I thought it was strange STILL working at the bank for 4 years now that those are the nicest coins to come through. Anyhow I've been going through my coin collection and noticed a 1978 quarter I found over the years. It's strange because it appears to have a silverish side and I can literally BEND the quarter if I put force on it. The quarter 100% appears real but when I'm reading on the quarter and how they switched metals it looks like it was only until 1976? From what I'm reading. Just want to make sure this is worth something before I do anything with it. Thanks again. (for whatever reason I cant just post this image) http://s11.photobucket.com/user/manny9059/media/BBD9942B-FB0E-4C31-830C-743BCA4255A6.jpg.html?o=0
so I just tried bending it almost as much as I could. It doesn't bend flush like a magic coin or anything it bends like it's actually metal. It bends as if you need to actually lay it flat again as well.
I made many of those when I was young and stupid. I would use them in payphones, pin ball machines, juke boxes and cigarette machines.
