Great European medievals, everyone, but let's not neglect the Islamic medieval world. They produced coins too, even if a little dull by our western beauty standards (ie. mostly scripts insteas of images). I'm going to give Islamic medievals a little love here. Here is one of my favourites. How could I forget this one? Louis IX was the only French king who was canonized. So he is known as St Louis. Awesome collection you have there! The Sisebut is really nice! And Of course I don't mind! Thanks for sharing! I want to delve into French medievals soon here too!
Here are a couple of Anglo-Gallic coins of Richard I (The Lion Heart). One from Aquatain and one from Pointers. The only coins with Richards name on them were minted in France. All the coins minted in England under Richards authority had the name of his father Henry II. It's the same with his brother John. Of course there are Irish pennies with Johns name. I don't think there are any for Richard but I may be wrong.
Thanks! The Sisebut tremissis is one of only two of all my coins depicting a Germanic king (the other being a decanummium with Ostrogothic king Athalaric standing).

i am wowed by all the medi coins here. ancient coin collectors are a great group that collect other stuff too (just take a lQQk) i'm lacking in English coin, but have a few others from this period. i.e... crusaders coins, James ll Cyprus 1460-1473, silver of Mehmed ll, (the Conqueror) b.1432 d.1481, denier of Louis lX(Saint) king of France 1229-1270, follis of Justin & Sophia 565-578, a few of the Habsburgs (Hapsburg-Lorraine also), i have more but this should suffice for now. i have been neglecting these, shame on me.

By the way @alde - no Coins of Richard in Ireland. He only has England, Aquitaine, Poitou, Issoudun, and Cyprus. (I say 'only' but that is not a bad number of mints...)

@Mat- I really like that F&I 2-reales piece! I want a double-excelente. That joins the Roman aureus on the long list of "coins I might conceivably own one day but can't hope to afford right now".
