Yes, it's true. It has come to my attention that I am turning into Our friend Doug lately. Some of the more obvious things include the following: 1. I know that everything (including gold) begins toning from day one. 2. Very few coins are actually uncirculated. 3. TPGs have changed their standards over the years. 4. I recently bought a similar hat. 5. I haven't purchased a coin in several months (this is just a temporary thing though) 6. I've thoroughly enjoyed more of the study of numismatics rather than needing a new coin to play with. 7. I've become a bit honorary. And the list goes on... is there any hope for me? I kid, of course, but I have sort of taken the learning path of late because I've been a bit short on disposable funds lately, but have really enjoyed the often overlooked side of the hobby very much. Hopefully all of my current home improvement projects and such wrap up soon so that I can get back to buying a few things soon, but until then, I'll concentrate on learning.
Take a deep breath, close your eyes, click your heels and say, "I'm going to regress, I'm going to regress, I'm going to regress." Cal
I think the word is ornery not honorary, although Doug is both. If your like button disappears, you have reached the point of no return... please continue with extreme caution!
Where's the motto... IN DOUG WE TRUST :-D ...oh and you got the date wrong. I won't say anything else or we'll both be doomed (banned !
Sometimes I find it hard to understand why someone would enjoy numismatics without actually collecting. Then I remember that I enjoy astronomy.
I was hoping this would be about hoarding silver dimes and quarters to buy bread after the eventual impending financial collapse... wrong Doug..
Writing about your coin interests isn't such a bad alternative to getting another coin. I find it more involving. And cheaper.
Yup, went through that too. Eventually I sold my entire US collection and switched to world coins Oh, and the hat, keep it handy, because come Halloween you and Jim can have a contest
