A rim hit on an otherwise lovely looking coin. Considering they only have one for sale and that is a bulk submission label I doubt they were even the submitter. It's a myth that they get better grades, they just get faster service that is cheaper per coin and more options for special labels

I can overlook the rim hit. I can almost overlook the series of scratches on the rim under UNITED (on both sides too... what's up with that?). I can't overlook where the scratches run onto the lettering of UN.

Tread lightly on the political statements around here and Welcome.

I agree DLRC is most likely just the venue to sell someone else's coins,

Thanks...just a harmless metaphor and besides after nearly losing my life in Name in the USMC very few things scare me people's people's opinions are at the bottom.

Firstly, thank you for your service. Secondly, KoinJester only mentioned this because it's against the forum rules and could get you dunned and possibly banned. We would all like to see everyone stay here, succeed and be around for the long term. What seems harmless to most usually ends up turning into a free for all that the Moderators will not tolerate.

We don't want you to be scared, we just don't want you kicked off for voicing political opinions not everyone would agree with.

If I didn't know better, I'd say those are planchet roller marks on the rims (and the gouge on the reverse being the most notable/worst). I'd be surprised to see them on a coin that's so young though - I thought they had much better quality control at the mint when it came to flan manufacture at this point. Just my two cents...

We don't really throw anybody out just because of one such post. But yes, respecting our rules is always a good idea. ;)

They probably did have better quality control at that point than they do now.

That's true - the product coming out of the mint today is... abysmal.

I will add that I really do wish DLRC would stop using scans and image everything. Their scans often times make things look much worse than they would in hand

Lot's of the big guys seem to do this. I'm sure it limits their sales online.

It definitely creates some controversy as a decent number of people don't realize its a scan and think a coins dull ect from it. There has and will be threads from scans getting questioned as in hand representations. Under 50 dollars or maybe even a 100 I can understand the time vs reward trade off of a scan. The OP I bet has great luster as a 68 but that scan just makes it look dull and people focus on the minor flaws unfortunately.

On the other hand, if you know what you're looking at it's a good way to cherry nice pieces at "common" prices. :)
